A continual exploration to access and discover the full potential of our vast natural resources has developed the identity of Slade for over 60 years.
Est. 1959
Slade Drilling was founded on the Central Coast of New South Wales, in 1959 by William Edwin Slade.
Slade Drilling began when William set out to build a drilling rig on a T-model Ford. He commenced drilling to access groundwater in the local area for domestic use, livestock, irrigation and town water supplies.
Family of drillers
Slade Drilling are third-generation drillers, with over 120 years of combined industry experience.
Our experience spans across multiple sectors of the drilling industry, for a range of purposes.
We are specialist groundwater drillers, offering hydro drilling services for domestic use, farming and agriculture, commercial and public water supplies, mine water supply, de-watering, environmental control and monitoring.
We offer coal and mineral exploration drilling, mine service drilling; including large-diameter services for coal-bed methane drainage, paste fill holes, etc.
Slade Drilling
Phillip Slade, Managing Director of Slade Pty Ltd Drilling Contractors trained as a maintenance fitter/machinist/welder in the Coal Mines and has managed the company since 1983.
In this time Phillip has gained significant experience drilling for a variety of commodities and purposes, including large diameter water supply, dewatering & environmental control bores, coal & mineral exploration, coal bed methane drainage, etc.
Large diameter water drilling is one of his specialties. Over the years he has been able to achieve optimum results satisfying customers such as the State Electricity Commission of Victoria (Morwell open cut), Consolidated Rutile Limited, Unimin, Sibelco on North Stradbroke Island drilling large diameter environmental control de-watering bores and deep hole large diameter air-core for exploration and piezometers, Kembla Coal and Coke, Brisbane City Council, South East Queensland Water (SEQ Water), Redland Shire Council, Rous County Council and Gosford / Wyong Council’s Joint Water Project.
Slade Drillers have been able to achieve optimum results in challenging drilling conditions, utilising in-house developed techniques. These techniques include Dual Tube Flooded Reverse Circulation, drilling large diameter production holes in unstable formations. Large Diameter Air core, drilling up to 6” dia. down to depths of 200m.
These competencies combined with our experience across a broad range of drilling programs, demonstrate our capability to undertake drilling projects to achieve optimal results for our customers.
